Skyline College, two years of automotive technology
Originally from Cuba, Raul had two passions; baseball, and keeping his family’s 1960 Opel running. An injury turned baseball into a hobby, but did nothing to his love of cars. After immigrating to America in 1994 as a teenager, Raul found work with a paper company, only to find himself sweeping the floor of a repair shop in San Francisco without pay a few months later. It didn’t take long for him to swap his broom for a wrench. He worked at the same shop in San Francisco for 19 years and for the latter half of those years he worked as a manager. Here at Valley Import Center, Raul handles the process of servicing and repairing customer’s vehicles, including scheduling, checking customers in, estimating costs, assigning vehicles to technicians, keep customer informed, and more.
